As the days get colder ...

The weather has been very cold and rainy lately. We have had a few hot summer days, but this year the summer wasn't as hot as the last few years. All clothing stores are selling their fall collections already and it is almost impossible to buy summer clothing. So in a week or two, it will be weather again to wear long-sleeved dresses and cardigans and tights. Yay ^^.

The leaves are still green but in no-time they will be brown, red and yellow .. I actually look forward to that !

Cardigan - thrifted
Dress - Orsay
Stockings - Zeeman (Holland)
Shoes - thrifted

As you may be able to see, my shoes were completely wet. For those who can't see it, here is a more clearer picture. :). They are at the moment my favourite shoes. When I went on vacation, the sole was broken and I couldn't wear them anymore .. But as soon as I got home, I brought them to the shoemaker and after one week I was able to wear them again. Speaking of shoes, I still have to buy a pair of boots for the winter.

And as you can see on the pictures, my hair looks kind of red. My hair is actually blonde but I dyed it many times since I was 10 years old. Black, red, purple, Blue, you name it ;). I am growing out my hair at the moment. in March it was cut off chinlength, so it has grown a bit. I really do want it blonde again.

with love, Jip.

Fleamarkets, dresses and Bags ...

Today I went to a flea market in Gronau, a city near the village where I live. I found two dresses and a vintage handbag.

This dress was the first one that I saw. It is made of a chiffon and polyester blend and has so much cute details ! I fell in love with the collar and the pieces of fabric on the sleeves. It has a print on it with very much flowers in pink and several shades of blue. Altough it is not vintage, it seems retro to me and due to the fact that is is older than a year or 2, (almost) nobody will wear it anymore.. The pictures my sister took in the first place turned out very blurry for some reason, so I decided to grab my duct-tape-dummy and put the dresses on her/him/it :).

This dress was a 1950's/early 1960's coat.
I sewed the bottom - from the last button to the hemline - so it couldn't fall 'open' anymore and could be a wearable dress. The sleeves wore too big for me so I shortened them. And for someone with like no sewing experience I think I did a pretty good job.

And this is the handbag I found. I had to buy it.
It is made out of straw and it has a metal zipper which has the word 'zipp' on it.
The inside is as adorable as the outside. It is lined with blue-yellow striped fabric and it has
two small pockets. I think it is from the 1930's
or 1940's.

Giveaways and Youtube videos.

I was reading some fashion blogs on the internet and I found a Dutch Blog that is called 'je suis Ynske'. She does a giveaway and the winner will receive a 'Mauri Bag'. Click on the following link to see pictures of it on her blog. --- http://jesuisynske.tk/ ---

I actually never took part in a giveaway, so this will be my first time. I would love to do giveaways myself, but due to the fact that I live in Germany, the shipping costs would be too high .. (unless you live in Germany yourself, ofcourse.)

I also have been thinking of starting to make some youtube videos about vintage hair-tutorials and things like that, although it may take a while because I do not know how the camera works and I have never made any videos before :).

Have a nice day,
